Roger Dyson Chairman of the BTHA commented "In a tough retail climate it is fantastic to see toy retailers that care about their customers and ensure toy buying is still a memorable experience."
The Toy Retailer Association represents 60% of UK toy retailers. Before Christmas in 2008 stocks ran in low supply for Fur Real my lovin ‘;pup and the kidizoom camera by Vtech so it is perhaps no great surprise that they have won these prestigious awards.
Last Christmas once again popular toys that had been ordered before October became in low stock and as a result websites such as eBay saw certain toys going for a much higher price than their normal retail value as parents clammered to get their child’;s most wanted toy in time for Christmas. The moral here is to buy before the Christmas rush. If you know what you plan to buy do not think these toys will come down in value as they most likely will not and you will then end up paying a much higher price. The only winners are those eBay sellers that thought ahead, saw the key toys, snapped them up and were able to sell them at a very high price before Christmas.
